Possibly the first wall that i ever made. I was obsessed with passing the moderation at skinz.org. I failed the first few times because my signature was too big.
Inspired by Otto von Guericke's "Magdeburger Halbkugeln" experiment (1654), where he created two bronze half-spheres, which were held together by a vacuum and could not be separated by 8 horses. "Desktop Of The Month" in the March 2003 issue of PCAnswers (UK).
In german computer games (mainly FPS), human looking opponents are replaced with machines or robots and those (have to) bleed GREEN to achieve a lower age certificate. This robot bleeds red. Rendered at 10800x7200px for print.
Rendered with the free beta of Brazil RS 0.3.1 from Splutterfish which allowed caustics and global illumination. Rendering time: 24 hours on a 2Ghz machine (in 2001). Coloration and enhancements in photoshop. Re-rendered in 2008 at 16000px x 12000px for print. It is hanging in my room.
